General Information

The Division of Marketing and Communications builds, strengthens and enhances the College of Charleston’s reputation as a nationally recognized public liberal arts and sciences university, and effectively communicates that the College of Charleston is an exceptional institution of higher education.

The work of the division includes strategic communications planning, media and public relations, publications, event marketing, web, marketing plans and projects, and advertising. By collaborating with campus departments and offices, our team provides direction, expertise and services that create and sustain a comprehensive and coordinated communications and marketing program.

The Division of Marketing and Communications is responsible for managing the university’s marketing, communications, brand standards and visual identity. The division, in conjunction with the campuswide Marketing and Communications Task Force, develops marketing and communications strategies and plans; oversees branding, marketing and visual identity policies and oversees the efforts of internal and external individuals and organizations that communicate the university’s message and identity, including all academic, non-academic and administrative units, as well as commercial vendors.

The Division of Marketing and Communications can provide assistance with developing marketing plans or tactics for your department or office, and ensure that these plans are coordinated with the overall goals and strategies of the institution. If you would like to discuss marketing issues or plans for your area of the College, please contact us.
